Carol's Story

I graduated from Georgetown University in May 2006 and moved to New York City to study photography. Like most New Yorkers, I found myself spending a great deal of time outdoors. I became concerned about the UV damage my skin was exposed to as I went about my daily life in the city. Sunscreen was not sufficient, and hats were often cumbersome and lacked coverage for my neck, shoulders and chest. Coincidentally, my aunt who lives in Japan had bought me a UV parasol as a gift in 2005, but I had only used it during vacations abroad.

I won't lie---I was a little hesitant to use my parasol in New York, but my rationality soon trumped any reservations I had. As I sported my parasol around the city, more and more women would stop me on the street to ask me where I purchased my parasol. Men would even comment on the product, often noting that I was wise to be concerned about my skin at such a young age. One day in the summer of 2007, it occurred to me that I should make this product available to American women who are concerned about skin protection and looking stylish.

That's why I've created Carasol, a company specializing in premium UV parasols. A Carasol parasol will give you the additional coverage you need for your everyday life. Elegant, chic and sturdy, these handcrafted parasols provide exceptional protection against harmful UV rays. Each parasol has a protective coating that blocks 85%-99% of UV rays, depending on the fabric and color of the parasol. There are various styles, sizes and colors to meet the design and travel needs of every woman. Compact and lightweight, many of the parasol models fit comfortably inside a handbag or tote. Most Carasol parasols are designed specifically for the sun, but some may be used during light rain.

Our manufacturers have a long history as the makers of reliable, stylish parasols, and have supplied to some of Japan's fashion elite, from top designer labels to the Japanese royal family. There is nothing comparable to a Carasol parasol, a product which is functional, attractive and, above all, protective.

An upgraded wardrobe, but I've always taken care of my skin.
